The Auditor-General for Yobe State operate within the framework of the Constitution and the Goals of the Office are:
- Enforcing accountability responsibility in MDAs or any other person or authority entrusted with public funds.
- Ensuring prudent disbursement and utilization of public funds, manpower resources and other public properties, using the economy, efficiency and effectiveness audit technique.
- Ensure regular and prompt audit of all Yobe State MDAs.
- Maintaining government auditing standard for public sector audit.
- Maintaining good relation with other State Supreme Institutions.
- Maintaining a close understanding with the Local Government Auditor General with a view to liaising on the development of public sector audit.
- Maintaining good relation with other government agencies
- Prompt and regular submission of report to the State House of Assembly.
